“Exploring Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara by bike offers a completely different perspective—one that goes far beyond the typical tourist experience. Instead of rushing between landmarks, you move through quiet streets, countryside, and hidden spots that most visitors never see. It turns the journey itself into the highlight of the trip.” Read More

This was by far one of the most enjoyable and best organized bicycle tours we have taken in our 35 years of cycle touring. The routing was fantastic considering the difficulty of routing a group of 8 people through the incredibly diverse series of rural and urban environments we encountered. The scenery was gorgeous, and the accommodations (which included a nice mix of traditional Japanese guest houses and modern facilities) were all top notch. The various sights along the way and side trips made available were all wonderful. We especially enjoyed our day touring the magnificent ancient Buddhist temples and monuments of Koya-San - a fantastic adventure on its own. Many thanks to Shelley and Masato for making this one of our most memorable bicycle tours ever!

OCycle Japan put together a 3 week trip in Japan for my husband and I and 7 other friends. The routing, accommodations, and points of interest were obviously put together with care. If there was any small problem they immediately addressed it. We would happily take another trip with them. Highly recommend.

I had a wonderful experience touring with Masato and Shelley. My favourite part of the trip was getting to bike along the ocean and stop at the beach. My other favourite part was seeing and meeting all the cool places and people I would have never seen or met if not for the tour. Shelley and Masato were very caring and put so much thought into our trip. We stayed at unique places I literally could have never found on my own, visited actual local favourites, and got to experience a much calmer and holistic version of Japan. As a novice biker I was concerned at first about my ability to do this tour but I’m really happy I pushed myself. It was fun, challenging (but absolutely doable), and just a really special experience I’ll always remember. Just bring good bike pads lol. So thank you Shelley and Masato for giving me memories that will very truly last a lifetime. This has been my favourite trip I’ve ever taken so thank you very much :)

I did the first Women's Only tour of the Kansai region and had a really great time. Each day had many recommended stop options, including museums, shrines and temples, and snack breaks, which the group could decide they did/did not want to check out. Shelley was a very accommodating guide!
We stayed in a variety of nice hotels, a Buddhist monastery, and a ryokan - some of them places you probably wouldn't be able to stay at without the connections of O Cycle. We had a lot of fantastic meals with the group, and a few evenings to wander ourselves and find our own restaurants.
We got in a few nights before/stayed 1 night after the trip, and they helped us coordinate the extra hotel nights, and suggested some activities for the day after (that we had a great time doing).
Shelley and Masato were great guides/hosts/planners, and I'd definitely recommend the trip to my friends if I could get any of my friends on bikes!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4-day cycling trip with O Cycle Japan. Shelley and Masato know the area very well; routes were well planned and allowed us to visit and experience many local areas we would not found on our own. Accommodations were unique and interesting; included meals were varied and very good. Highly recommended.

My tour with O Cycle Japan was utterly fantastic. With it being my first time to Japan, and being a relatively novice biker; I wasn’t sure what to expect. The experience was truly unforgettable. It was a perfect balance of activity, sightseeing and memorable experiences. Shelley and Masato were great hosts as well. From the quality of the equipment supplied, the curated route, and the seamless luggage transfer, they never missed a beat. Thank you for the amazing time!
What you Need to Know Before Visiting Japan

We are a proud sponsor of SYYCLISTA Cycling Club. They are a local Calgary, Canada club that has been successfully developing competitive local riders in road cycling. They began riding together during covid time and everyone realized the physical and mental health benefits, along with the development of community spirit this sport provides.
The name ‘SYYCLISTA’ is a good way to identify a Filipino cyclist from Calgary. ‘Siklista’, the Filipino term for a cyclist, and ‘YYC’ for Calgary, when combined, can be a good answer when asking someone on a road bike in the city: “SYYCLISTA ka ba?” (Are you a SYYCLISTA?). Check out their website to learn more.
